In recent Facebook news, the company plans to make its News Feed sorting options accessible to more users. Should you have access to this new feature, you will see three different feed options available via your main feed. You will see these three different News Feed options at the top of your page, and also a slider icon in the upper right hand corner of your page, which will allow you to choose which News Feed you would prefer as your default News Feed. See the image below for a visual.
The “Recent” option will display content on your feed in reverse chronological order with the newest post shown at the top of your feed. This option will allow you to stay up to date on the latest news. The “Favorites” option will show the latest content from your favorite connections. You will have the option to choose your Favorites and can choose up to 30 friends and Pages to include your Favorites list. Posts from your Favorites will be distinguished with a badge and be shown higher in the News Feed. Lastly, the “Home” feed option is the same as your default feed.
This new News Feed sorting feature is something Facebook has been testing for quite some time now, and it will be available to more and more users. Although this isn’t a major change as each feed option will still only display content chosen for you, it does give you more options, and a little more control over how you would prefer your News Feed to be displayed!
