Last week Facebook held it’s annual F8 Conference where new features and products were presented. Here’s just a few things that you can expect to be coming up in social media soon.
Facebook Clear History Feature
This feature will make it easy to see which apps and website receive your information from Facebook when you are using them. You will then have the ability to delete this information and disable Facebook from being able to store this information associated with the apps going forward. This definitely sounds comforting considering how hard it can be to find which apps currently have your infomration.
Facebook Dating
Dating and Facebook? What? Yes, you read that correctly. Facebook is rolling out a matching service, pretty similar to Tinder. Users will create a dating profile and match users based on their preferences and mutual friends. It will be built within the Facebook app, but your dating profile will not be visible to friends or on the News Feed. If you’re sick of Tinder or just new to the dating scene, look out for this later this year!
Facebook Hate Speech Checker
You may start to see messages from Facebook, asking if something you wrote is considered ‘hate speech.’ But apparently, it hasn’t been too accurate and the message has been placied on statuses that do not contain any vulgar language. It’s nice to know they are trying to look out for us though.
Translation for Messenger Feature
Messenger will now have a translation service through the M digital assistant. So if you were to send or receive a message through the Facebook Marketplace, it will give you the option to translate it. This will make selling and buying a whole lot easier.
Instagram Explore Page Update
Instagram is changing how you see the Explore page. This may be an interesting twist for engagement and how many people see a post. Content will now be organized into channels by topic. Check it out. Image sourced from Forbes.
These are just a few of the many new updates coming soon! Which ones are you most excited about?
