Imagine this. You’re sitting in a library (yes they still exist!). It’s so silent that you can hear a pen drop! You barely want to even turn the page of a book too loudly (these exist too). Your eyes are tired. You’re exhausted. You need a break. Why not pick up your handy dandy phone and see what your Facebook friends are up to? You start to scroll your Newsfeed. All of a sudden….. *BLAST*. The unexpected sounds of an autoplayed video starts to BLARE from your phone speakers. Everybody turns and mean mugs you! How embarrassing!
Well, this situation can very likely happen with Facebook’s Latest Feature announcement: Facebook plans to automatically play the sound of autoplayed videos in your Newsfeed. Whether you can love it or leave it, this is the fate of Facebook users in the future.
If you aren’t so keen about this update, there are a few ways around it (you’re welcome in advance)!
1. Switch your phone to silent. Facebook won’t override this!
2. Listen to another live streaming service. Spotify and Apple Music won’t be disrupted!
3. Change this in your Settings.
iPhone Users: Hit the menu button at the bottom right corner of the screen, then go to Settings > Account Settings > Sounds > Videos in Newsfeed Start With Sound.
Android Users: Hit the menu button at the upper right corner of the screen, then go to App Settings > Videos in Newsfeed Start With Sound.
What do you think about this newest feature option? Love it or Leave it?! Let us know in the comments!
